The African Court Research Initiative (ACRI) was initiated by Professor Charles Jalloh who then invited Professor Kamari Clarke and Professor Vincent Nmehielle as collaborators on the project. Together, they worked to convene an exploratory expert meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in November 2014. Funding for the project was subsequently secured and Phase I of the ACRI was launched. global Papers were commissioned on various issues centered on the criminal law jurisdiction of the African Court. This was then followed by an international experts meeting at Florida International University in Miami, Florida in March 2015, where leading scholars and practitioners were asked to present papers on their assigned topics.
The Compendium, which is to be produced in Phase II of the project, highlights the promises and perils of the various components of the practical implementation of the Malabo Protocol.
